Overview of research activities
Flexibility is a key trend in changes in work. Flexibility transforms work organisation, labour relations, work rhythms, skills and competences. Information and communication technologies (ICT) are at the core of these trends. Telework is a particular case of flexible work pattern linked to ICT. Several research projects have been conducted on these subjects:
- The European project FLEXCOT (Flexible work practices and communication technologies, 1998-2000), for the 4th European RTD framework programme - archived project web site in English.
- A study for the Federal Ministry of Employment, on "ICT and its impacts on employment and quality of work" (2001-2002) - Final report downloadable in French (PDF, 1.2 Mb)
- A study for the Walloon Council of Science Policy on "New technology and new work forms in the printing and publishing industry" (2002) - downloadable report in French.
- A survey on flexibility, individualisation and workers' expectations, for the CNE trade union Namur Luxembourg (2001) - Report "La flexibilité du travail : un défi collectif"
!downloadable in French.
- A survey on women and atypical work, for the CSC trade union (2001) Report "Le
travail atypique, résultats d'enquête", downloadable in French.
Detailed information about these projects and publications can be found on the corresponding page in French.
